If you take a look at the fuse holder section of our store, you’ll notice there’s quite a few items there, and many of them can look fairly similar.
So what’s the difference? Which fuse cartridges go in which fuse holders? And what other accessories go with each fuse and holder combo?
We’ve put together a visual guide to help you make sense of it all.
Explaining the cheat sheet:
Basically, there are three types of fuse holder:
The actual fuse cartridges can have various current ratings (80A, 100A, etc), but it’s the actual dimensions that determine which holder they go into.
Switchboard mounted fuse holders
In the cheat sheet, you can see we have six different switchboard fuse holders. The main difference between these is that they’re either front or back wired, and from there it just comes down to the brand.
Front wired: Fuseco, Cooper Bussmann – Black, Cooper Bussmann – Clear
Back wired: Fuseco, Cooper Bussmann – Black, Cooper Bussmann – Clear
All six of these fuse holders will carry a 30 x 57mm service fuse. Therefore, any fuse that is 30 x 57mm up to 100A will suit.
Pole mounted fuse holders
Likewise, we have four pole mounted fuse holders. The main difference between these is the size:
- Two will suit cables 6 – 35mm2 (K series or PFV series)
- Two will suit cables 6 – 95mm2 (K series of PFV series)
You can also purchase mounting brackets for the K series or PFV series fuse holders.
Any fuse cartridge that is 22 x 58mm up to 100A will suit all four of these fuse holders.
Pit fuse connector
Finally, we also sell a pit fuse carrier, which also takes the 22 x 58mm fuses.
